Jennifer Ash, MD
Founder & CEO
I'm a vascular surgeon by training — and a patient by experience.
In 2022, an autoimmune rheumatologic condition made it impossible to continue operating. Leaving surgery was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I miss it. But it also put me on the other side of the exam table, and what I found there changed everything.
Even with 20 years of medical training, navigating the healthcare system as a patient was overwhelming. The denials, the delays, the phone calls, the forms, the sense that everyone is waiting for someone else to do something. If it was hard for me, I kept thinking, what is it like for everyone else?
That question is why Sideline MD exists. Not as an ending to my medical career — as a redirection of it.

His career has taken him from territory management to startup growth to FDA regulatory pathways, helping new medical technologies move from idea to market. He holds an MBA from the University of Illinois and a degree from Illinois State University, where he played football for the Redbirds.
